extreme events, Geological hazards, Multi-hazard combinations, Storms and gales wind

This project aimed to illustrate how the combination of precipitation, climatic and soil data can be used to assess asset risk failure. The project integrated data on soil type, soil moisture deficit and rainfall intensity with location data for tracks, assets and incidents into a toolkit that provides improved ‘live’ calculation of risks to the rail infrastructure, particularly in relation to derailment.
