The principal objective of this project was to demonstrate the newly developed Proactive Infrastructure Monitoring and Evaluation (PRIME) remote condition monitoring technology on existing rail and canal pilot study sites. Current monitoring technologies are generally inadequate for monitoring the internal condition of flood defence, transportation, and utilities earthworks. The project demonstrated the reliability of the PRIME hardware platform for remote condition monitoring
