The aim of this innovation project is to translate the technology and methods developed for science-based archaeology in the form of remote-imaging at standoff distances to condition monitoring of infrastructure in the energy sector. The ability to track conditions over time will promote an understanding of how such assets perform and deteriorate throughout their lifecycle due to environmental factors. This innovative method will deliver significant maintenance, planning and cost benefits necessary for critical infrastructure assets and society as a whole, with potential for broader application in other sectors.
