Hazards
High impact low probability event, Inland flooding
The aim of this innovation project is to develop a probabilistic decision-support system based on past flood-induced scour inspection data and rainfall forecast, together with sensor technology to monitor and predict possible failure risks for road and railway bridges in the UK. This will support the project partners in planning future maintenance, repair and rehabilitation strategies.
